TECHSOUP : Lending A Hand To Non-Profits

Among the links listed by Global Voices is a link to TechSoup.org

TechSoup.org's web site states that it "offers nonprofits a one-stop resource for technology needs by providing free information, resources, and support."

TechSoup also provides instructional articles and informative worksheets for nonprofit staff members who utilize information technologies, as well as technology planning information for executives and other decision makers. Introductory articles and a message board also provide support aimed at those who do not have much experience using technology, but we also provide more advanced information.

In addition to online information and resources, they have a page called TechSoup Stock where they offer a product philanthropy service. At this page, qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the U.S. can access donated and discounted technology products, generously provided by corporate and nonprofit technology partners. And they even have a list of organizations that provide Recycled Computers and other IT Hardware at their TechSoup Stock page (just follow the link).

[Currently, the majority of their donated products are available to U.S. based 501(c)(3) organizations only. But, in time, they expect that to change as they are working with their partners to increase their donation coverage to other international areas.]

This Short Article is just a notice to alert you to TechSoup's presence on the web. There is a lot more you can find out if you Drop by TechSoup.org and see if they can do anything for you, or if you can do anything for them. You can find them on the Web at: http://www.techsoup.org/

Hi Oscar,

I'm glad you found us on line and thank you for recommending us to other nonprofits here in the U.S. and around the world. I do want to give some feedback on what you said about Techsoup Stock. Currently, the majority of our donated products are available to U.S. based 501c3 organizations only. In time, we expect that to change. We are working with our partners to increase our donation coverage to other international areas. Canadian organizations are already eligible for some of our most popular products. We also have a pilot going with Cisco in Europe as well as Africa to provide nonprofit organizations there with donated networking equipment. If anyone is interested to get more info on the Cisco EMEA pilot, check here on our site and email us with any questions.

This is a wonderful blog and keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Clement Barrera-Ng/Techsoup Stock
